Is there a limited quantity?

No, there is not a limit to the number of items available for purchase. Since these are pre-orders, we will be able to produce the precise amount to match demand. However, this does mean we have a hard cut-off date for sales.

 

When is the sales cut-off date?

Pre-order sales will be open through Friday, August 28 at 10:00pm Eastern (New York time zone). At this point, product listings will show as "out of stock" or otherwise unavailable.

 

Will extra zines go up for sale at a later date?

Probably not. Since we are doing pre-orders only, it's very unlikely we'll have any extras to sell later.

 

Will a digital version be available at a later date?

Yes. We will offer a PDF of the zine for free for a limited time after sales close. Expect this in the fall or winter.

 

Can I order merch without the zine?

No. We are offering three purposefully tiered bundles, each featuring the zine.

1. The zine on its own
2. The zine and stickers
3. The zine, stickers and keychains

This is to reduce the complexity of orders and to encourage support for the zine itself.

 

What are the shipping prices?

Shipping to the US

• $7 for the first item/bundle added to your cart
• $2 for each additional.

 

Shipping outside the US 

• $22 for the first item/bundle added to your cart
• $6 for each additional.

 

For those outside the US, you may be contacted for a customs payment. This is outside the control of the zine project, but we will do our best to declare a fair value on the customs form to minimize this.

  

When will orders ship?

There are no exact dates on when an order will ship due to turn-around time from multiple printing companies. The goal is to ship within 3 weeks, but please allow up to 6 weeks from the cut-off date.

How long does shipping take?

Shipping is from the US, so this will typically take 4 to 7 business days domestic.

International shipping may take 14 to 30 business days. 

 

Can I cancel my order?

We will accept cancellation requests that are made before the sales cut-off date. Email Kate directly at makemiskates@gmail.com with your order number.

Once pre-orders close, all sales are final.

 

Where do profits go?

All profits after cost will go to Hero Initiative, which you can read more about here.

 

What happens if there aren’t enough sales to make a donation?

The intent of this project was to do something fun with the fan community, and continue to gain zine creation experience along the way. Though we love the idea of supporting our favorite charities, money has never been the goal. We are very aware that the Fourth World fandom is fairly small, and not everyone can or would like to make a purchase, so it wouldn't be a surprise if we don’t recoup costs.

However, as a big proponent of supporting the creative people who have given us the stories and characters we love, I (your admin Kate) will pitch in to meet a minimum donation of $50. If we make more than this in profits, then that would be wonderful. But if not, you have my solemn guarantee that we will at least give that much back.
